Pick up from Tanger airport, a city known as the "bride of the north". Tour of the city, where we will be able to visit the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel, facing northwest, where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. In the afternoon we will set off to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains where we will be able to enjoy the scenery. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, we will have dinner and spend the night in a Riad.
The second day is dedicated to explore the city of Chefchaouen. After breakfast, we will start the visit to the "blue city", getting to know its alleys and alleyways, crossing paths with its friendly inhabitants and merchants. In the medina, there is the Uta el-Hammam square, the heart of the town and the ideal place to have lunch, the Grand Mosque, with a curious octagonal tower, and the Kasbah, which contains a garden, a museum and an art gallery. Leaving the medina, the most famous site is the Ras El-Maa waterfall, where the sound of the water and the green hills provide a great dose of fresh air. We will have dinner and overnight again in Riad.
After breakfast, we will start the journey towards Fez. We will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a site recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. On the way, we will pass through Meknes, the capital of the Ismailites, where we will be able to visit the Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables and the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Fez, where we will have dinner and overnight in a hotel.
After a good breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our guided tour of Fez by a local guide, discovering the oldest city, the cultural and religious centre of Morocco, founded in 805. As we enter the streets of the medina, we will feel that time has rolled back, with its labyrinthine narrow streets that do not allow the passage of any other means of transport besides donkeys. There is a constant flow of people in the midst of which we will be surprised by the Andalusian quarters, magnificent mosques and Koranic schools. We will visit the royal palace, the mosque of Karaouine, the souks of Attarin and Charij Bouanania. Leaving the Medina, we will climb up to an ancient fortress to enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Overnight in Fez.
After breakfast we will leave for Merzouga. On the way we will pass Ifrane, the so-called "Moroccan Switzerland”, through the Cedar Forest with its thousand-year-old trees, famous for its free Gibraltar monkeys. We will continue the journey through the Ziz Valley, a large palm grove, to our destination, the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here we will exchange the 4×4 for dromedaries to enter the dunes and enjoy a sunset that you won’t forget. Upon arrival at the Berber tent camp, we will enjoy an excellent tea and a delicious Berber dinner, all accompanied by the music of drums. Here we will spend a unique night, enjoying around the fire and under the millions of stars that populate the desert sky.
Today we will have the opportunity to rise early to see the sunrise from the top of the dunes before breakfast. We will return by dromedary to the 4×4 getting to know the area and visiting a family of Gnawa musicians, bambaras, descendants of slaves originating from Black Africa, who will delight you with their traditional music in the small village of Khamlia. After this stop, we will continue to Ouzina, crossing the Paris Dakar track, where we will eat the famous Berber pizza. On the way back to Merzouga, we will pass through the mines of Mifiss, the desert plateaus. In the evening we will return to the riad for dinner and rest.
In the morning we will set out for Rissani, the origin of the Alaouite dynasty and Morocco's first imperial city. We will take the road to Erfoud, rich in black stone and marine fossils, where we will pay a visit. We will continue our way to the palm grove of Tafilalet. We will visit the Todra Gorges and its daunting gorges and reach the Dades Valley, where we will have dinner and stay overnight in a riad.
After breakfast, we will enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley. We will do so from one of the most strategic places offered by the mountains. From there we will be able to observe the huge number of Kasbahs and the picturesque of each one of them. After several stops to appreciate the route of the Thousand Kasbahs, the Valley of Roses and the great palm grove of Skoura, we will arrive in Ouarzazate where we will have lunch. We will also visit the Kasbah of Ait-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO heritage site. In the afternoon we will set off on the road to Marrakesh crossing the Tizi N'Tichka mountain pass. Arrival in Marrakech, where we will have dinner and stay overnight in riad.
After breakfast, we will depart for the city tour with a local guide. This visit includes the Menara Gardens, Gueliz, the modern part of Marrakech, the Koutoubia tower and the "Djmaa el Fnaa" square, the Saadies tombs and the Bahia palace. The souks and the medina of Marrakech will be visited at length. There will be free time during the day to walk around or relax. Dinner and overnight in riad.
After breakfast, we will drive to Casablanca. Depending on the time of the flight, there will be time for a short visit to the Hassan II Mosque and the city. Transfer to the airport.
