Departure after breakfast, crossing the High Atlas through a pass of 2260 metres. We will pass through several Berber villages to reach the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, former caravan ports across the Sahara desert and where several famous films have been shot. We will have lunch in this magnificent setting. In the afternoon we’ll drive to Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Morocco". Here it is possible to visit the film studios. Our route will continue south towards Dades. We will appreciate the oasis and palm trees, the numerous kasbahs and the landscape of the Middle Atlas. We will be able to take a walk in the quiet of the mountains where the Berber people make their home. In Dades we will have dinner and overnight and hotel/kasbah.
From here we will continue to Merzouga through the Todra Gorges. We will discover typical villages and meet nomads in the mountains. We will cross the palm grove of Tinghir, one of the most beautiful and vast in Morocco, before reaching the town of Erfoud. From here we will take the track that will take us to Merzouga and where we will reach the desert. Here we will exchange the 4x4 for dromedaries that will take us on a quiet ride to watch the fantastic sunset among the dunes, and enter the bereber tent camp. After a welcoming tea, we will enjoy a typical dinner and an unforgettable evening in the desert, under the stars and enjoying the typical Berber songs and dances.
In the morning, after a comforting breakfast, we will start our way back to Marrakech. We will start towards Rissani, the first imperial city, with its interesting market where nomads from the surrounding area come to sell and buy the goods they need. We will then take the road to Ouarzazate via the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco. Here we will make a stop to admire the charming mud kasbahs and Berber villages dotting the route and the interesting geological formations of the Draa Valley. We will then arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will make a stop to stretch our legs. We will again cross the High Atlas Mountains with their beautiful landscapes and arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.
